Meet the People Behind the Pack
Hello! My name is Lori and I have worked part-time at Tail Chasers since May 2019. You may find me playing with and loving your dogs while in daycare, giving your dogs TLC during their bath and nail trims, and/or assisting you at the front counter. No matter what I am doing, know that I am doing it with every ounce of love, and passion I have for serving you and your canine companion.

Born and raised in Connecticut, I grew up in the country and pursued my career as a Park Ranger while I attended college and majored in Fisheries and Wildlife. I moved to San Diego and worked in various parks as a Park Ranger for 23 years. While in San Diego, I earned by Bachelors degree in Business Management and Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership. In 2013 I hung up my Ranger hat and migrated to southwest VA to be close to family and closer to my country roots. I found my niche in the animal world here when I became employed at Montgomery County Animal Shelter (now the Animal Care and Adoption Center), as an Animal Control Officer for 4 years and more recently a volunteer and Education Coordinator. I absolutely love serving our county and communities two and four-legged population.

I am also a Reiki Master who practices Reiki (Japanese form of energy balancing and healing) on people and animals. My business is "Reiki Connection" (www.reikiconnection.net) based here in Christiansburg, I primarily serve the NRV but I am also able to provide Reiki from a distance to balance mid, body, and spirit. I invite you to pursue my website, ask me any questions you have about it and how it may help you and your pet. I have also spent several years teaching dog obedience and tackling problem behaviors and I enjoy sharing that knowledge with dog parents so that you and your companions can live a happy, healthy life together.

My husband and I have 3 wonderful rescued dogs! Trooper, Hope, and Lilly, whom you may see enjoying herself to the fullest in dog daycare. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my dogs and family, cycling, hiking, kayaking, reading, and gardening.

Wag more, bark less! See you soon!
