Meet the People Behind the Pack
Hi, my name is Brittany, I am very excited to announce that I recently joined the team at Tail Chasers as a full-time dog groomer! I just moved to Virginia from West Palm Beach Florida and my very first day at Tail Chasers was October 10th
Eleven years ago, at the age of thirteen, I started my on-the-job training working with dogs. My first experience was when I started learning how to groom our family toy poodle from my older sister who was a groomer. She showed me grooming techniques and allowed me to work on our beloved poodle. After this, my desire grew stronger to work with dogs and become a groomer.
I started my professional career as a bather and worked with several reputable grooming facilities. Before moving to Christiansburg, I worked in my previous position for 3 years. There, I was quickly promoted to head bather and then worked closely with the owner of the business for 2 years, where I was trained on the job to become a groomer. In the past I have also worked and groomed for a Bichon breeder. I have attended many grooming shows and seminars and plan to continue to attend as many as possible to expand my grooming techniques and continue to learn and grow as a groomer.
Now, I’m very comfortable in performing breed specific haircuts on an array dog breeds. I am devoted to make sure that each groom I perform is my best work and more than that, I want to be sure the client and pet are comfortable, safe and happy during and after my grooming sessions. My number one focus is the safety and happiness of your pet.
I want to meet and talk with each of you one on one to get to know you and your pet and to make sure I fully understand exactly what services you would like and do it to the best of my ability as well as discuss any concerns or questions you may have.
I’m happily looking forward to working with new and returning clients to Tail Chasers, so stop on by to meet me in person or give us a call so that we can get you set up with an appointment and get your baby looking and feeling their best!
Hello! My name is Lori and I have worked part-time at Tail Chasers since May 2019. You may find me playing with and loving your dogs while in daycare, giving your dogs TLC during their bath and nail trims, and/or assisting you at the front counter. No matter what I am doing, know that I am doing it with every ounce of love, and passion I have for serving you and your canine companion.
Born and raised in Connecticut, I grew up in the country and pursued my career as a Park Ranger while I attended college and majored in Fisheries and Wildlife. I moved to San Diego and worked in various parks as a Park Ranger for 23 years. While in San Diego, I earned by Bachelors degree in Business Management and Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership. In 2013 I hung up my Ranger hat and migrated to southwest VA to be close to family and closer to my country roots. I found my niche in the animal world here when I became employed at Montgomery County Animal Shelter (now the Animal Care and Adoption Center), as an Animal Control Officer for 4 years and more recently a volunteer and Education Coordinator. I absolutely love serving our county and communities two and four-legged population.
I am also a Reiki Master who practices Reiki (Japanese form of energy balancing and healing) on people and animals. My business is "Reiki Connection" (www.reikiconnection.net) based here in Christiansburg, I primarily serve the NRV but I am also able to provide Reiki from a distance to balance mid, body, and spirit. I invite you to pursue my website, ask me any questions you have about it and how it may help you and your pet. I have also spent several years teaching dog obedience and tackling problem behaviors and I enjoy sharing that knowledge with dog parents so that you and your companions can live a happy, healthy life together.
My husband and I have 3 wonderful rescued dogs! Trooper, Hope, and Lilly, whom you may see enjoying herself to the fullest in dog daycare. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my dogs and family, cycling, hiking, kayaking, reading, and gardening.
Wag more, bark less! See you soon!
